Location
Buchanan County is located in southwestern Virginia and borders
Kentucky and West Virginia. Click here for a location

The county has a current population of 26,978 (2000 Census) and
is the top coal-producing county in the commonwealth. Buchanan
County is also home to the Appalachian
School of Law and the University
of Appalachia College of Pharmacy.
